When His Excellency Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry, placed the jewel to unveil the new QAFCO logo, he was heralding a new era into QAFCO. An era re-ignited with the passion to serve the world.

On 14th October 2009, in a glittering ceremony at The Sheraton Doha that had the august gathering in awe, the new QAFCO corporate identity was unveiled. The historic moment was witnessed by a very distinguished gathering that comprised of His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Energy and Industry Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Attiya; Ministers, and Diplomats.

The ceremony commenced with a short film on QAFCO's history, which told the story of QAFCO's evolution over the years. In the speech that followed, QAFCO Board Chairman, Mr. Abdulla H Salatt reminded that QAFCO was the first step towards industrial diversification in Qatar. In his speech, Mr. Salatt said, “Earlier, our excess gas was burnt and released, but thanks to the visionaries, the same resource is being used as a potent fertilizer to help feed millions across the globe. By adding more value along the hydrocarbon chain, QAFCO has proved to be a major milestone for the industrialization of Qatar and a foundation for its flourishing economy.” He further added that QAFCO was well aware of its significance in the world and that it realizes the need to reinvent itself. On a concluding note he said, “QAFCO has to be the jewel of growth that will inspire prosperity.” He left the audience on cue.

At this moment, the Master of Ceremony, Mr. Hamed Al Marwani, QAFCO’s Industrial Relations Manager, requested QAFCO Chairman, Mr. Abdulla Salatt to call upon His Excellency Abdulla Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry to unveil the new identity of QAFCO. The moment the jewel was placed on a specially designed platform, the countdown began on the screen as the audience waited with bated breath. This was followed by a sequence of montages of some of the milestones from QAFCO's history which lead us to see the prosperity that QAFCO had brought to different parts of the world followed by a sequence of fast moving images of modern times until the new logo was revealed.

Speaking on the occasion, QAFCO Managing Director, Mr. Khalifa Al Sowaidi said that by unveiling the new corporate identity for QAFCO, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Energy and Industry Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Attiya, had raised the curtain for a new beginning. He further added that the new corporate identity that has been unveiled will go a long way in bolstering QAFCO's image in the world market. “With this, with renewed vigor, we welcome the change and ready ourselves to face the future. With this, we hope to bring in more honors to Qatar, and hold our flag high amongst the best in the world,” Mr. Sowaidi said.

This was followed by an entertainment program which included a cultural performance depicting the culture from all the continents – a symbolic representation of QAFCO's reach.
