Serve. Backhand. Volley. Half volley. Across the court. Point. Game. Set. Match. Yes, it is time again for yet another three weeks of an exemplary sport in action – The QAFCO Open Tennis Championship (QOTC) to start from 3rd October 2011.

As we get into the 23rd edition of the championship, it is worth remembering the time when a few tennis enthusiasts in QAFCO got together and stitched a tournament which has today become one of the most prestigious sporting event in Qatar. With around 500 competitors fighting it out in different categories QAFCO Open Tennis Championship is today the largest sporting event of its kind in Qatar.

The number of participants is expected to increase considerably and who knows you might be a witness to a highly probable epic battle that might be reminiscent of Federer – Nadal or Federer –Roddick, for history is made at the least expected moment by the least expected.

Meanwhile, the tennis lawns in Mesaieed are ready for yet another gripping tournament and shutterbugs will be alert for those moments of sheer brilliance.
